GTE & GEPG Laboratory Facilities Campaign
Support the upgrade of AIT's vital Geotechnical laboratories—empowering both teaching and industry with modern equipment.
About the Laboratories
The GTE and GEPG laboratory facilities were established at the Asian Institute of Technology in 1973. The laboratory currently consists of the following five testing fields:
- Soil Testing
- Rock Testing
- Aggregate Testing
- Geosynthetics Testing
- Field Testing
In addition to regular laboratory testing services for the industry, faculty and students regularly use the laboratory facilities and equipment to carry out experiments related to teaching and research activities.
Challenge: The majority of the testing devices are over four decades old and are getting outdated. Some were damaged due to the 2011 flood. There is a strong need to upgrade these facilities to continue our mission.
Goal:
To provide support for relevant teaching/research activities at an international level and to provide reliable and professional laboratory testing services to the industry.
